Take Me Home

We feel that it’s a good idea to feature pets who are in need of a loving forever home, particularly since we here at Kamp K9 often hear about animals displaced by the misfortunes of so many people and families in these times. If you know a pet who needs a new home, and who doesn’t have the benefit of much publicity, let us know, and if we can help, we will by featuring them here. Information given here is preliminary only and comes from rescue organizations; contact them for more information.

From the files of Canine Commitment in Gorham:
Meet Delilah & Daisy (L & R), who upon transfer to Maine have been called Dakota and Montana! These friendly, sweet-natured and goofy 9-10 month old female Basset Hounds made their way up to Maine to find their forever home(s). While these two sisters would love to go to a home together, they can be adopted separately. Both girls are happy, healthy puppies. (Their eyes, contrary to Daisy’s in the photo, are fine at this point). They could use a little further house training, but they’re puppies! They are spayed and up-to-date on all vaccines. The adoption fee is $295 for each puppy. If you are interested in adopting please email

for more information and an adoption application.

From the Homeless Animal Rescue Team of Maine:
Sweet little Angel is an 8-month-old kitty who has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. She is not showing any clinical signs of illness and is as affectionate and loving as can be. Angel has soft, long, gray hair and lovely, gentle, yellow eyes! HART is desperately looking for a loving home for her where she will be safe and not around other cats... unless, of course, they have Feline Leukemia too! While at HART, Angel will have to reside in a cage in our Intake Room so that she does not interact with any other cats (but will get attention from many caring volunteers). If you have spent time with us, you know that we want all our kitties to be able to interact with their roommates and lounge on windowsills and platforms. We want the same for Angel, and only a home can give that to her. Please consider welcoming this wonderful kitty into your home.
About Feline Leukemia: It can only be transmitted from one cat to another; therefore Angel would be perfectly safe residing with non-feline pets and, of course, humans!
