Take Me Home

Welcome to the newest feature in The Straight Poop! We felt that it would be a good idea to feature pets who are in need of a loving forever home, particularly since we here at Kamp K9 often hear about animals displaced by the misfortunes of so many people and families in these times. If you know a pet who needs a new home, and who doesn’t have the benefit of much publicity, let us know, and if we can help, we will by featuring them here. Information given here is preliminary only and comes from rescue organizations; contact them for more information.

Oh my goodness...look at this FACE!! This is Levi.
Here’s some info from his Petfinder.com page:
cgi?petid=15356953?rvp=1
) Levi arrived to foster care Gorham, ME, with a waiting adopter who backed out after the darling blonde pup fell on the ice the day after he arrived and broke his back knee bone. The poor baby is down on his luck! He had surgery on the 15th and is doing GREAT. He’s a delightful dog, 5 months old, crate/house trained, spayed, and superb with kids and other dogs. He is a fine, sweet pup who needs 4 weeks of a quiet, predictable routine, and then it’ll be "off to the races!" Levi's temperament is tops. The surgery, costing $700, was NOT in our Rescue budget, not by a long shot, and so we need some miracles here. If 70 people donated $10 it would be covered. Please consider. The unpaid bill is at the vet's office. Please email Victoria of Canine Commitment at vreynolds109@hotmail.com for more info.

There are so many cats out there who need a home...we’re focusing on a senior cat this time available through HART (Homeless Animal Rescue Team) in Cumberland.

Coco is a pretty, short-haired gray female with a small white patch on her chest and a cute gray nose. She is 14 years old and is very sweet. She has velvet-like hair and is friendly, talkative, and a little bit of a couch potato. Coco is affectionate, yet independent. She was abandoned by her owner when she moved away, and a roommate brought her to HART, where she'd be loved. She was kept in a basement for 5 years without much human contact, but you'd never know it. She loves to have her head rubbed and to be talked to. It’s heartbreaking for an older kitty like this to be abandoned and brought to the shelter.

Coco is up-to-date with routine shots, litter box trained and spayed. For more info email
info@hartofme.com.
