Take Me Home

Welcome to the newest feature in The Straight Poop! We felt that it would be a good idea to feature pets who are in need of a loving forever home, particularly since we here at Kamp K9 often hear about animals displaced by the misfortunes of so many people and families in these times. If you know a pet who needs a new home, and who doesn’t have the benefit of much publicity, let us know, and if we can help, we will by featuring them here.

At right is Bo, who is a Brussels Griffon. He lives with his mom in the D.C. area. Rescued from an Arkansas puppy mill, he’s done well. He’s fully grown at 14 pounds, doesn’t shed, and is quite smart and very affectionate. He’s neutered, fully housetrained, and up to date on shots. He needs to find a new home because his mother works every day, and he has some separation anxiety, which makes him bark a lot, and is in danger of getting himself and his mother kicked out of their condo. This anxiety can be alleviated with conditioning training and lots of exercise.

Contact us here for contact info for his mom. She’s visiting family in Maine starting December 12, so he could possibly be re-homed at that time.

From the files of Canine Commitment:
Meet Braveheart, a very friendly, brindle Tennessee Treeing hound mix. He is a bit larger than average for this breed, weighing in at about 70 pounds. He was probably born in October, 2007. Braveheart is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He loves to play and gets along great with people. He is crate trained, house trained, and leash trained. Although Braveheart gets along with children and other dogs, we think he’d do best in a home with no live in young children or other animals, possibly one other dog or cat. This is because he has a skin condition that occurs when he gets stressed. He is laid-back and an excellent companion.

E-mail Cathy at realitchec@hotmail.com for more information about Braveheart. For more pix see his Petfinder page at
